Why should I choose a Powered swivel seat?

This entry was posted in February 26, 2024

A big factor that motivates an individual to purchase a stairlift is their mobility. Individuals can have difficulty using the stairs, impacting their independence. A stairlift can be a great help in this respect. With technological advances, it is now possible to have a stairlift with a power swivel chair.

Who should use a Stairlift?

A stairlift can be used by anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs at home and would like assistance in helping them access upstairs safely and independently.

What is a Powered swivel seat?

When using your stairlift and you arrive at the top of the stairs, you will want to swivel your seat toward the landing for a safe exit. In some cases, pushing a lever to manually swivel the seat may not be possible, therefore there is an option to choose a powered swivel seat. The powered swivel will automatically turn your stairlift seat toward the landing when you have reached the top of the staircase.
Advantages of a Powered swivel seat?
Easy on and off: The automatic swivel facing away from the staircase makes it much easier and safer to get on and off the swivel without the worry of falling.
Manual vs. Power Swivel:

A user of a manual swivel seat needs to manually turn the chair at the top of the stairs, which can be difficult or dangerous for those with weak core strength or coordination. An individual with a power swivel can turn the chair as necessary, making getting on and off much easier and safer for those who may have complications when using a manual swivel seat.

Safety: All Stairlift chairs comes fitted with a seatbelt to help the user to stay secure in the chair. This ensures maximum safety for the user and peace of  mind for family members too. For additional safety, certain stairlift models come with a manual override for emergency release to improve stairway access if required too.
