Corporate Social Responsibility

At Ableworld we take great pride in sponsoring local Charities and Partnerships.

Ableworld & South/West Cheshire College Working in Partnership

Ableworld have teamed up with South Cheshire College to launch a Skills Development Academy which will benefit students and the local community. A former classroom within Cheshire College has been transformed into a replica hospital ward and an elderly person’s house and the area will give students the chance to carry out lots of practical work and learn more about hospital and domiciliary care. The facility, on floor one of the College’s West building, has been decked out with hospital beds, infection control equipment, a hoist along with a reclining bath, a wet room, a rise and recline chair and a stair lift.

Ableworld is sponsoring this fantastic new initiative which will be a huge boost for BTEC Health and Social Care students and it will also help the College to develop the range of Higher Education courses on offer, including the HNC and HND in Health and Social Care. Within this training facility there will be a dedicated area for care in the home and dementia care training. The main aim of this facility is to train the future health and social care workforce and also to work with the wider community.

Wheelyboat Project

The Overwater Wheelyboat project is an exciting service, which is situated in Audlem, Cheshire.

This project offers an enriching life experience to disabled children and adults. The boat provides free boat trips on the Shropshire Union Canal, one of the most scenic canals in the country which gives freedom on the water for disabled people of all ages. More recently, in January 2019, there was the launch of the Wheelybus, which has been designed to transport people to the boat moored at Overwater Marina. The bus can accommodate four people in wheelchairs with carers, and or up to 12 people.

Ableworld are proud sponsors of such a worthwhile project and we always look forward to working closely alongside.
