Keeping Fit With Ableworld - An Introduction
This entry was posted in February 10, 2023Here at Ableworld we understand the service we provide helps customers regain their independence through the products we provide.
We will carry on with this mission as we have done since the very first day we opened. However, we understand that requiring a mobility aid is the very last option our customers wish to take. That’s why we want to introduce a new bog series aptly named ‘Keeping fit with Ableworld’, where we shall discuss different approaches to living a more active a healthy lifestyle.
If you come along on this journey with us, we hope to provide you with the tools, products and protocols to keep you mobile for longer. The blog will run on a monthly basis so make sure to keep an eye out on our socials, or just check our blog page when you can.
It’s a known fact that as we age our physical capabilities begin to decline. However, what we don’t realise is the rate at which we begin to lose our strength and mobility. Did you know that after the age of 30 our muscle mass starts to decrease by 3-8% each decade. After the age of 50 this figure starts to drastically increase!
You may not have any interest in your muscle mass at this point but believe me, you will!
Muscle mass plays a very important role in retaining our mobility and should be taken seriously by those of all ages. The benefits of maintaining your muscle mass will mean the difference between living comfortably and struggling to complete everyday tasks. Afterall, a healthy amount of muscle mass helps improve posture, mobility and even reduces the risk of fractures when you fall.
If we do not stay active in our later years we run the risk of letting our muscles weaken. Factors that will determine the speed of our muscle loss will include exercise frequency, our ability to fight illness and hereditary issues.
We understand that not all of us are equal and some may struggle to do the things others can, but do not despair and do what you can. You will benefit from it, as will those closest to you!
This blog will cover a wide range of topics to help provide you with some important information in regards to your health. Starting with strength we will cover other areas such as bone density, cardiovascular health and flexibility. We will also look into illnesses that effect most of our aging population including arthritis, depression and dementia.
We want our customers to live long and happy lives and that includes independence through mobility. If you value your health and fitness then join Ableworld on our journey to explore the ways of prolonging our MOBILITY!
