Simplyhealth Announce Closure of The Unlimited Company

This entry was posted in General November 30, 2017

It is unfortunate that some of the larger local mobility retailers are closing their doors but we want to take this opportunity to let you all know that we don’t plan on going anywhere. The future of Ableworld looks more positive than ever with expansion into new towns and mobility products ranges.

We were sad to hear that Simplyhealth have announced this month that they will be closing 7 of their Unlimited Company stores as well as 3 under the Independent Living and Collins Care brands, due to difficult circumstances and a shift in customer requirements. Five other stores that fall under the Care and Mobility brand will remain open whilst a possible sale of this part of the business is considered.

Simplyhealth was established in 2016 but have recently seen a shift in requirements and a wider availability of mobility aids being available on the high street and online.

Many of you may know that as an ethical company, Ableworld do not agree with this approach, which is why we will not sell larger mobility aids online. We want to ensure our customers get the right product first time to help them live more independently. Some retailers do not see this importance and will sell items on the internet as it can be a quick and easy money maker but we would rather our customers be happy and given the free advice to make an informed decision.

We also want to take this opportunity to remind our customers that Mobility Aids should be considered as a long term purchase and not one to be rushed. If you do need to buy a mobility aid we encourage all of our customers to ensure they purchase from a reputable dealer that can offer an after sales service and support should you run into difficulty. Can they carry out repairs or servicing? Are they able to offer you a warranty period on your mobility equipment for added peace of mind? Please ensure you consider all mobility purchases you make to ensure you don’t get stung by a one-man band that cannot provide ongoing support and help that you might need.

If you are looking for advice or guidance on what mobility aids and equipment may be able to help you live more independently feel free to pop in and speak to one of our team members or visit our website www.ableworld.co.uk
